Every campaign carries an unsubscribe link. Where it leads is a page Ozi hosts for you, and Settings → Unsubscribe page is where you shape it.

Editing the page

The page has two states, and you can edit the copy for both with a live preview alongside:
  • Preferences — what a contact sees when they follow the link: a headline, a description, the topic choices (if you have topics), and the unsubscribe button.
  • Success — what they see after saving their choices.
The button label is yours to set too. Whatever you write, the page keeps its one job: a contact who wants out must be able to leave in a single click.

Topics

A topic is a category of email a contact can opt in or out of on its own - “Product updates”, “Weekly digest”, “Offers”. With topics, the unsubscribe page offers a set of checkboxes rather than only a way out, and people who are tired of one kind of email can keep receiving the rest. Each topic has a default: on by default means a contact receives it until they untick it; off by default means they receive it only if they tick it. A contact’s choice is stored only once they have made one, so adding a topic never touches your existing contacts. To send a campaign to one topic, choose it under To in the campaign editor. The audience is the contact book’s subscribed contacts, narrowed to those who receive that topic. A campaign with no topic goes to everyone in the book, as before.
Unsubscribing is still all or nothing. The button at the bottom of the page removes the contact from every email, topics included, exactly as it did before topics existed. Topics add choices; they do not take any away.
Deleting a topic removes contacts’ choices for it. Campaigns that targeted it go to the whole contact book instead.
